Guide Cards for Barometer, 6-24 Tables
The Guide Cards for Barometer give perfect (or as close to perfect as possible) comparison from 6 to 24 tables where all pairs play each other. Also known as Endless Howell, the pairs move to the next table (lower and higher respectively). Endless Howell is a simplified form of Howell movement designed for barometer tournaments where all tables are sharing boards in every round. The principle of the movement is that the pivot pair (the pair with the highest number) sits NS at table 1 throughout. Moving pairs move up one table until they play the table with the highest number, then they start moving downwards towards table 1. Pairs moving up one table are called Yellow pairs and those moving down are called Red. The guidecards come with clear and comprehensive instruction cards, with diagrams and additional notes such as how to handle an odd number of pairs.
The Guide Cards for Barometer are neatly presented in a smart burgundy flocked wallet nicely embossed with ‘BAROMETER’ in gold along the spine.
