Guide Cards for Pairs, 24 Boards
Guide Cards for Pairs, 24 Boards, is a complete set of guide cards for 4-11 tables playing 24 boards (6-12 rounds) with extremely good balance. It also covers “odd” situations such as pairs arriving late or leaving early. The main advantage of these cards is that all players will play all 24 boards (unless there is an odd number of pairs) with the best possible comparison (balance). Another advantage is that you can easily append late pairs as there are special guide cards for that purpose in the package. With two co-authors, Per Jannersten famously wrote a book on bridge movements which are well known for being so evenly balanced. The Guide Cards for Pairs are produced by Jannersten and are based on the Reduced Howell movements developed by him, Hans-Olof Hallen and Olof Hanner in the aforementioned book: Bridge Movements – a Fair Approach.
The cards are neatly presented in 8 transparent plastic wallets, each giving clear instructions and table movement cards for each number of tables (4, 5, 6 etc. up to 11 tables). The guide cards are 100% plastic so they’re easy to keep clean and won’t dog-ear over time. The 8 packets of cards are then stored in a smart burgundy flocked wallet nicely embossed with ’24 BOARDS’ in gold along the spine.
We consider these to be a good one-off investment for small to medium sized bridge clubs.
